Megan is a registered psychologist who, in her 14 years of practice, has supported clients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents and adults. She has extensive experience in providing therapy for a range of mental health difficulties including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, stress and trauma, navigating relationship difficulties, grief and loss, burnout.

Megan began her career working in a not for profit organisation, providing trauma-informed, play-based therapy to young children. These children often presented with externalising behaviours resulting from exposure to traumatic early-life experiences. This work highlighted the importance of the early parent-infant relationship on children’s later emotional well-being. After two years in this role, Megan returned to study, completing a postgraduate Diploma in Infant and Parent Mental Health.

Following on from this degree, Megan developed a keen interest for working with clients in the perinatal period, and began specialising her work, providing support to clients from conception, through pregnancy and into the postnatal period. Megan believes it is vital to the wellness of the family system to support parents during this major life transition. In addition to providing postnatal support, Megan also works with clients who may be experiencing grief/loss during their reproductive journey, conception difficulties and infertility, anxiety or depression during pregnancy, and adjustment difficulties relating to relationship changes that come after the arrival of a baby.

Megan is flexible in her approach and draws upon a number of evidence-based therapies and theories, depending on a client’s needs. These approaches include Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Cognitive and Behaviour therapy(CBT), Schema therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Psychodynamic- and Attachment-informed theories also underpin her therapeutic work with clients.
