Ava Christie
Counsellor
About me
I am a counsellor with a focus on trauma, nervous system regulation and meaningful forward movement.
I see this work as a privilege and I value the courage it takes to sit with difficult experiences. My role is to support you with clarity, steadiness and respect as we work toward the changes you want to make in your life.
Why this work matters to me
I have seen how deeply trauma, grief and emotional pain can shape a person’s inner world.
I believe that with the right support, people can move toward greater stability, connection and self leadership. It is my intention to offer a space where you feel safe, understood, supported and not alone in the process.
How I work
I work collaboratively and at your pace.
I aim to build strong therapeutic rapport and supportive communication so that you feel safe enough to explore what is happening beneath the surface.
I provide a warm and adaptive environment, offering in person and Telehealth sessions, with the option of phone support when accessibility is a barrier.
My approach is individualised, and is guided by what is most helpful for your nervous system and your goals.
What guides my practice
My practice is grounded in trauma informed principles, nervous system awareness and an understanding that our patterns are shaped by our histories.
I draw from a wide range of modalities including Internal Family Systems, somatic approaches, narrative therapy, EMDR and mindfulness based strategies.
I have deep respect for the complexity of trauma and work with sensitivity, clarity and steady containment. I engage in ongoing professional development to ensure my work remains current, relevant and effective.
